General Waste

General Waste, sometimes known as residual or trade waste, is common everyday rubbish that cannot be recycled. It is free of any apparent or actual pathological/infectious, radioactive or hazardous chemical contamination.

Dry Mixed Recycling

Dry Mixed Recycling (known as Co-mingled Recycling) is an innovative solution that gives businesses the ability to embrace recycling without needing a separate container for each waste type.

Paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, drinks cans, and food tins can all be mixed into one single container, with the time-consuming sorting process being conducted off-site at an automated Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).

Food Waste

Food Waste is all the inedible and edible parts of food that is created before and after food processing, production, and consumption. It can contain small bones such as chicken bones from a takeaway but can’t include larger bones such as from a butcher (this requires specific certificates for disposing of within an ABP (animal-by-product) bin)

Clinical waste is the term is described as waste produced from healthcare and similar service providers such as dentists, beauty therapist or tattoo parlours that may pose a risk of infection. This can include, swabs, bandages, dressings, needles, syringes blades, or any waste that may prove hazardous to public health. In Scotland, any hazardous clinical waste produced is controlled by the Special Waste Regulations 1996 and the Special Waste Amendment Regulations 2004.

Covid Test or PPE Disposal

In the fight against Covid-19 there is a new weapon. The Covid-19 Lateral Flow test.

These tests produce a result in under 15 minutes and whilst not as accurate as a polymerise chain reaction (PCR) test they have been recommended for use by the NHS. These are the tests that are currently being rolled out to schools, colleges, and universities in addition to care homes, and it is increasingly likely that they will be utilized widely in the hospitality sector, and in the “close contact” service industry to ensure the safety of their clients and staff.
